When Being a Tightwad Meets up with "Green"

There is so much talk in the media, still, about going "green" and how beneficial it can be to the environment.  I wasn't thinking about being "green" when I did the following. . . it was more a matter of necessity and making nickels squeal a dime.

The temps outside are heating up and of course, the wind has blown like crazy this year. . . . much more so than what is normal for these parts.  Here's taking advantage of Mother Nature all in the name of saving a dime:

By using the wind and what nature provided, I don't use the clothes dryer and can actually turn the breaker to it off.  By not using the dryer; I don't heat the house up as much. By not heating the house up further in this heat, my a/c unit doesn't work as hard. . . The big plus; more money in the bank!!!!

And as well all know by now, there is a pretty good drought going on in Texas.  It kills me to see grass being mowed down just to rot and decompose.  Yeah, I know. . . it would just turn into organic fertilizer for the grass itself. . .  But, why not take that a step further. . .  Why mow the yard except what animals won't consume?  Why not let it feed the herbivores who will get what nutrients they need then convert it and it still be organic fertilizer?  Meet the lawnmowers:
They look happy and a little pressure is taken off the pastures since we all know that there is a big difference in pastures and yards in the growth they experience.

Another bonus by allowing the ponies to do the work. . .  more $$ in the bank. . . errr to be put to other bills.  Yeah, what they don't eat still has to be mowed but not as frequently and with less work. . . As expensive as gasoline/diesel has become. . .  I'm all for putting the bulk of what fuel would be used to mow the grass in my truck engine.
