Hindsight Always Has a Different Perspective

They actually haven't hit yet but with this dry/hot year, they've already hit.  I hate to see Auguest.

During the school year, it can be amazingly hard to drag kiddos out of the sack.  And all through the year prior to the end of May, all you can here is that they can't wait till summer when they can sleep late. . . Yet, they want to do things and Mama ain't gonna do them unless it is early in the day.  So, what is it that they will bounce out of bed at six a.m. during the summer and they won't during school?  I have to just shake my head.

But here is what they have been getting up so early for in the good old summer-time:

Yes, my child is wearing shorts!  But at least he is out of the house doing something during the summer instead of watching t.v. and playing with his LEGO all the time.  The LEGO is stimulating to his brain. . . but geez, how much stuff can a body build?  He has decided he likes this mare and their personality seems to fit each other.  She tries, she just doesn't fit my program and it was either get rid of her or keep her for him.  I think she will be staying.  She is really helping to build his confidence and he likes the aspect of using her to ride through the deer lease to check game trails, etc.

And of course, the herd of dogs has to be involved as well.

Sister developed a headache and so went on back to the house.  Brother and I trudged on and enjoyed the rest of our ride.

Yes, he again, has shorts on.  That is what suits his fancy. . . but he did find my half-chaps I can't get into, anymore.

And, just what is out of place out in the middle of the woods in Deep East Texas?

She is worth her weight in gold at this point.  He is inexperienced and really has no desire, at this point, to learn more complicated things that can be involved in riding.  He just likes to ride through the woods.

Trying so hard to hide his smile.  He feels accomplished.  All is good!  Glad I didn't follow through with getting rid of her.
