Goat Herding and Chicken Surprise

This morning, the kids staked the goats out on the driveway.   The goal was to accomplish two things at once.  Feed them and clean the fences.  Goat herders can get frustrated from time to time.  But then, they get their laughs.




And then, their mother gets confusing surprises. They were supposed to be inside.  How'd that happen?

Took mama a bit, but she figured it out. . . It was her fault.  She had left the door open for the bigger chickens to get out about in the outdoors.  A piece of plywood would keep the biddies in their corner. . . . Or so she thought.

I'd forgot about a bunch of nosy butts. . . that are always looking for the opportunity to steal any kind of feed they can get.  And I am the guilty one who let them out into the yard to graze extra. . . Here those culprits are:

I managed to get the metal chicken feeder back to working as well, thankfully.  Everybody is happy and fed and life is good.
